In 2009 Sally Ko is developing FEARLESSNESS, a new series of paintings that continue her exploration into the lush possibilities of abstraction. The artist’s signature fusion of expressionism, minimalism, and sculpture -- paint, pattern and play – endure. Ko's focus as she paints has always been on making peace with personal memories and historical identity, and since starting a family a few years ago, that awareness has expanded to the here and now.

The dynamic interplay of color, texture, and shape in these works symbolize yearnings to confront and transcend the fears, worries, and anxieties that we must confront as we mature -- these are meditations on fearlessness.
